BALTIMORE, MD – The Mid-Atlantic Region Minority Business Development Agency Advanced Manufacturing Center is excited to announce the launch of the Manufacturing Innovation Hub Cooperative (MiHUB). A virtual ribbon cutting for MiHUB will be held online at 11:15 a.m., Tuesday, November 10, 2020, as part of the 2020 Baltimore Minority Enterprise
Development Week (Baltimore MEDWeek) and Supplier Diversity Inclusion Week Minority Manufacturing Symposium. The MiHUB CoOp is an outgrowth of the MBDA Advanced Manufacturing Center – Baltimore’s current support to minority manufacturers. MiHUB offers opportunities across all manufacturing industry sectors for companies to scale up and grow through collaborative access to technology, business development opportunities, technical assistance, and financial assistance. The symposium will feature a panel discussion with manufacturers on the value add of the MiHUB CoOp and its “We’re Stronger Together” platform to minority manufacturers and their supply chain.

“The cooperative will help members grow together to deliver economic and social benefit in communities and increase minority manufacturers’ connection to national manufacturing research and development infrastructure,” said N. Scott Phillips, Director for the Advanced
Manufacturing Center and MiHUB. “It is fitting that we launch under the Baltimore MEDWeek theme, “Succeeding Together: Through Collaborative and Cooperative Thought and Action.”

The MiHUB CoOp is an outgrowth of the MBDA Advanced Manufacturing Center – Baltimore’s current support to minority manufacturers. MiHUB offers additional opportunities across manufacturing industry sectors for companies to scale up and grow through collaborative access to technology, business development opportunities, and technical and financial assistance.
The MiHUB launch is funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Commerce Minority Business Development Agency to the Baltimore City Mayor’s Office of Small, Minority and Women Business.
