Who are We
The Mid-Atlantic Region MBDA Advanced Manufacturing Center – Baltimore, located in Baltimore, MD, partners with organizations in the Mid-Atlantic Region to deliver services. The Center is staffed by specialists who assist businesses owned and operated by socially or economically disadvantaged individuals to access markets and capital. Four centers, nationwide, are funded by the Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA), which is a federal agency within the U.S. Department of Commerce. The centers promote growth and global competitiveness, of manufacturing companies owned and operated by socially or economically disadvantaged individuals, better equipping them to create and retain jobs, impact local economies, and compete successfully in domestic and global marketplaces.

These centers and their strategic partners assist  businesses owned and operated by socially or economically disadvantaged individuals linking them with consulting services, contract and financing opportunities, bonding services, building business-to-business alliances, global/ teaming/joint venture opportunities, and executive training.

The Mid-Atlantic Region MBDA Advanced Manufacturing Center – Baltimore is an entrepreneurially focused organization committed to wealth creation in socially or economically disadvantaged business communities. Our goal is to cultivate and support socially or economically disadvantaged communities in the nation’s Mid-Atlantic Region and beyond by improving access to market and financial opportunities (domestic and global), fostering key industry relationships and leveraging business expertise.

The Mid-Atlantic Region MBDA Advanced Manufacturing Center – Baltimore assists socially or economically disadvantaged  manufacturing companies in retaining and creating jobs, obtaining procurement contracts, and financing for working capital and asset acquisition. The center is operated by the Baltimore City Mayor’s Office of Small and Minority Business Advocacy & Development.

Scott Phillips
Director
Scott Phillips has been an advisor and advocate for minority businesses for over twenty five years as an attorney in private practice and as a former Project Director of IBM’s federal small business program.  His experience includes government contracting, project management, financing and business development.
Anthony Robinson
Business Consultant
Anthony W. Robinson for the past twenty five years has been President of the Minority Business Legal Defense and Education Fund (MBELDEF). As President he has guided the organization into the premiere legal advocacy and watchdog organization on behalf of the minority business community.
LaToya C. Staten
Business Consultant
LaToya C. Staten is a tech and talent ecosystem builder and ecosystem engagement strategist. She leads several initiatives focused on advancing, public-private economic and workforce development opportunities in key technology and innovation industries.

Christine Plater
Special Projects
Chris Plater’s oversight of business and workforce programs across Maryland industries includes staffing stakeholder advisory groups in the public and private sectors representing manufacturers and minority-owned companies and providing media and events management.
UCHENNA MILDRED UDEH
Project Administrator
Uchenna leads in the provision of administrative and project support
to ensure workplace productivity at MBDA AMC. 
Prior to joining AMC, she lived and worked in Nigeria and Canada.
She worked as an administrative assistant on operations for a global hotel group.
She was also the sole proprietor of her small business, dealing in cultural cuisine.
She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology from UNBSJ.
