Baltimore, MD – Baltimore Minority Enterprise Development Week (Baltimore MEDWeek) and Supplier Diversity Inclusion Week 2020, “Succeeding Together: Through Collaborative and Cooperative Thought and Action” will be held virtually, Monday through Thursday, November 9-12, 2020. Baltimore MEDWeek highlights the importance of Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs) in our Region, including the stakeholders impacted by MBEs as suppliers, employers and contributors to our economic growth.

Launching Monday, November 9 with online “Press & Previews” announcements, including a speaker lineup, Baltimore MEDWeek returns with two signature events. The Minority Manufacturing Symposium
features plenary sessions from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 10, on managing pandemic stress and peak business performance, building a capital network, higher education services for advanced
manufacturing, the official launch and a ribbon cutting for the Manufacturing Innovation Hub Cooperative (MiHUB), and mock procurement pitch sessions. Baltimore MEDWeek’s annual
procurement fair, Thursday, November 12 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., introduces MBEs to corporate and government contracting organizations. An online Veterans Day Observance includes success stories on entrepreneurial veterans and links to business services and business resources for veterans.

“We believe strongly in the need to continue providing programing that supports our minority business community,” said N. Scott Phillips, Director of the Advanced Manufacturing Center. “The manufacturing
companies that we assist collectively employ more than 1,000 people and exceed $250 Million in annual revenue” said Phillips.

The MiHUB CoOp launch is an outgrowth of the Advanced Manufacturing Center’s current support to minority manufacturers. MiHUB offers additional opportunities across manufacturing industry sectors for
companies to scale up and grow through collaborative access to technology, business development opportunities, and technical and financial assistance.
Baltimore MEDWeek is hosted by the Baltimore City Mayor’s Office of Small, Minority, and Women Business and the Advanced Manufacturing Center in collaboration with MiHUB. Partnering organizations include the Regional Manufacturing Institute of Maryland; the Governor’s Office of Small,
Minority, and Women Business Affairs; the Maryland Department of Commerce; Morgan State University and its Entrepreneurial Development and Assistance Center; and greiBO.
