NEXTTECH 2020 – Connecting MBEs thru a Virtual Experience
May 19, 2020 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm
What is NEXTTECH 2020?
Here’s how it works:
NEXTTECH 2020 is a pilot initiative that connects innovative Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs) with companies and Federal agencies looking for technology solutions. We’ve identified corporations and federal agencies who have a specific need or challenge to overcome and funding for the initiative. Decision-makers are seeking businesses with a market-ready technology, product or service that can address their challenges. The Atlanta Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) Advanced Manufacturing Center will host the first NEXTTECH 2020 Pitch Day virtually on May 19, 2020.
NEXTTECH 2020 Pitch Day will match Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs) to decision-makers during a series of virtual meetings and presentations over the next six months. The first NEXTTECH presentation on May 19 will focus on energy storage challenges that federal agencies are trying to solve. Other challenges from corporations include manufacturing innovations, virtual reality training and mobility networks.
To qualify, MBEs must own a technology, product or service and have the capacity to address the challenge.
Needs & Challenges Presented on May 19 Include:
Energy Storage
- Next-generation energy storage technologies, including grid applications
- Technology to secure the domestic manufacturing supply chain for energy storage
- Rigorous system evaluation, performance validation, and siting tools
- Models, data, and analysis for good decision-making on energy storage technologies
- Technologies to strengthen U.S. manufacturing and recyclability
